Commonwealth Games 2018 Ceremonies

Event Systems had the pleasure of being involved during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games on the beautiful Gold Coast. Engaged by Riedel Communications, Event Systems provided engineering support to the Riedel supplied system.

Riedel were responsible onsite for a comprehensive technology deliverable including a fully distributed Artist Intercom Matrix, Bolero Wireless DECT intercom, UHF radios and accompanying repeater systems, signal transport utilising Mediornet along with comprehensive WiFi coverage of the stadium for production requirements. CCTV coverage was also provided for all client required areas which included safety needs as well as production needs seamlessly.

Bolero was the highlight of the deployment, with 70+ packs active at peak times, seamlessly covering the entire stadium without drop-outs or delay whilst providing crystal clear audio to the end user. The ability to provide mobile users the equivalent of a small key panel on their belt was well received and when combined with the speed and reliability of the deployment, was a game changer.

Both Artist and Mediornet platforms performed seamlessly during the event, both providing reliable distributed communication and signal transport functions to the event.

A big thanks to Riedel Communications for the opportunity to deliver a successful event using the best equipment on the market.
